This painting was born in a moment of fear— and a conscious choice not to surrender to it.
We had just arrived in Dubai for a spring break with my son when the attacks began. Flights cancelled, explosions thunders, sirens, windows shaking from the shockwaves that you could feel through your entire body.
In that space, fear, tension and anxiety were everywhere. I felt a clear choice: to follow the fear, to feed it through endless news — or to redirect that energy into creation.
For the first time in my life, instead of dresses and clothes I had brought art materials with me on a trip. I didn’t know then how deeply I would need them.
This painting is not just an emotional release onto canvas. It is about alchemy — transforming fear into power, tension into creation, and chaos into something alive. It is about choosing where to place your attention and energy, even when the world around forces you to shake and fall into fear-hate spiral.
As part of my series on the inner fire and the strength of women, this experience reminded me how deeply we carry the gift of transformation within us — the ability to create, to give life, and to turn even the most intense moments into something meaningful.
